  • Christmas in New Zealand Part 1

It is taking me a while to post any photos from my adventures down under.  I am sitting in my memories.

This trip was the summer I didn’t have.  With moving from Vancouver to Victoria, and a busy season photographing wonderful families both new and old, time for relaxing in the sun with my family did not happen.

This trip was a family adventure.  We spent most of our time in the country and out in the wilds with family in both New Zealand and Australia.  To watch my kids reconnect with their grandparents, cousins and aunties completely filled my ‘bucket’.  As a bonus, I had time to myself to simply let my creative energy out.  Jet-lag helped as early mornings were my friend.

I am skipping ahead to the end of our journey.  We took a few days to ourselves and visited the west coast of New Zealand in the Mt. Taranaki region.  To put it simply, I was blown away by the long black sand beaches on this side of the Island.  I was in heaven!

More images to come, of days living off of small country roads, cows, horses and swings in fields.
