  • Glorious Beach Wedding

This summer I photographed a couple who were married on their parents front lawn which just happens to be right on the water on the Sunshine Coast.  Don grew up spending his summers at the family cabin which is now a little upgraded and houses his parents full time.  The neighbouring home is owned by family as well which made for the perfect space to host a wedding.

Everyone wore white with the only distinguishing features being the coloured leis worn to represent the brides family, green, and blue for the groom’s.  The day was gorgeous and sunny and the ceremony on the beach was spectacular.

As the wedding was Scottish themed to honour Don’s family, the MacKenzies, scotch was served post ceremony for every guest to wish the new couple a happy life.  Krista donned the MacKenzie tartan to finish off her wedding day outfit. The last hint of the tartan was on the gluten free wedding cake, made by Don’s sister-in-law.

The whole event took place in one location with guests lounging in the yard or walking along the sand.  It was a family celebration and a reunion at the family summer home.
