  • Downtown Fall Family Session

This is the third time I have photographed this lovely family.  Right in the heart of downtown is their little oasis.  We spent the morning wandering the Farmer’s Market and then off the park completely working at the kids’ pace.  What I enjoy most about this family is that they are just, present… I feel like a fly on the wall with them. They play with their kids and simply hang out and I am invited along.

Our kids grow up quickly.  To capture images of them in play, being silly and especially making it across on the monkey bars are important to create a whole image of their childhood.  I remember so distinctly the days both my girls were finally big to reach up and grab those rings, and then skip one and then the moment when they could skip two and three. They worked hard to get there and had the callouses to prove it.  Watching C on the monkey bars reminded me of the joy that the kids feel accomplishing such a feat!

I am trying out new templates tonight.  It may not necessarily work having the first group of images in colour and the second in black and white, but I wanted to try out both styles.

Thanks again to my downtown family who allow me to be a little part of their growing lives.
