An early July Saturday on the West Coast with gorgeous sun overhead is the perfect backdrop for a wedding, especially for one with the brides venturing to our fair province from Utah.
Ashley and Mila truly picked the perfect weekend to wed after our late start summer. With their parents and a group of very lovely and devoted friends they rented a house in Sooke for the week and enjoyed the Island’s hospitality .
Ashley and Mila were stunning and so passionately in love which is evident from the images captured that day. I felt honoured to be a part of their small, intimate wedding. The ceremony took place on the lawn overlooking the water. Our venture down to the water’s edge after the ceremony brought many surprises to me as both brides did not hesitate to swing from an old rope hanging off of an old arbutus tree or climb or an old black staircase and simply be with each other. They were so relaxed and present with each other that many times I think they forgot that I was even there . . . perfect for me!
