I had the pleasure of meeting Sarah and Corey at their lovely garden-abundant abode for a pre-engagement shoot meeting that was to happen the following day at Royal Roads in Victoria. I snuck a few photos of their pets and then lured the couple outside as the evening light streaming into their back yard was beautiful.
The very animal friendly home houses two pets, Sybble the dog and Abbey the cat.
The light was very golden and on its last few moments before setting.
We moved onto Royal Roads the next day to continue our engagement shoot. This was my first chance to visit the school and I was very excited. The grounds are simply stunning and I love the diversity of backdrops. We started out at the lower field below the castle and I loved the warm yellows and pale blues of our surroundings.
As Sarah and Corey grow such an extensive garden in their backyard they brought along some homegrown garlic as it is quite symbolic of their life together. We found quite a few nooks and crannies in the back gardens of Royal Roads to explore and take pictures in.
When Corey asked Sarah to marry him he began the morning with a treasure hunt leading Sarah around Victoria to all the locations that had special meaning to them both. Eventually she came across the final clue and the letters that made up his very important question. Little did Sarah know that the ‘yes’ word she brought with her (the letters from deciphering a previous clue and choosing to take those with her without knowing why) was her answer to Corey’s question.
I am very excited for their wedding later this month. I loved hanging out and getting to know these two very earthy and lovely human beings.
