  • Short and sweet Stanley Park wedding

I am very grateful to meet many same sex couples from outside of Canada who come to marry in Vancouver.  Their weddings are often small and intimate.  We may only spend a short time together, but I am honoured to witness and document their commitment.

We walked around the forest surrounding the Rose Garden before the ceremony to keep cool and capture the ‘green’ west coast feel.

Kim and Stacey came from the San Fransisco Bay area with Stacey’s mother and friend.  After days of unsettled weather their wedding day saw glorious sunshine as they married under a shady tree in the Stanley Park Rose Garden.

The ceremony was officiated by Karen Ell who I have witnessed many times at same sex weddings and I am impressed by her words and thoughtfulness.

After the ceremony Kim and Stacey invited me to have a drink with them on the patio at the Stanley Park Grill which was lovely to sit and chat with the four of them.

Thank you Kim and Stacey for inviting me to a part of your wedding!
