  • Himat First Birthday Fiesta

Having a photographer and a design diva for a mother is always a blessing.  Rupi Kambo from Studio Orange Design + Photography created the perfect Fiesta themed birthday celebration for her son’s first birthday party.  With family and friends in attendance the party was a hit.

Himat celebrated in style with a gorgeous cake, Mexican dancers, pin the tail on the donkey and a pinata to crash, which was a larger version of the goodie bags the guests took home.  The event took place at The Kitchen, at Peace Arch Park, just on the American side of the border.  The setting was perfect, the decor fantastic and sun glorious on this hot summer day.

My favourite photos from that day are the ones with Himat and his grandparents and great uncles and aunts.  I love the contrast between the generations.  I would love to spend more time photographing kids and their grandparents.  Himat’s grandfather made his grandson a kite and was like he was a kid again that afternoon.

Thank you Rupi for asking me to come and photograph your son’s special day!

Shona, thank you so much for capturing all the special moments. I can’t begin to express how much these photos mean to me. You were absolutely on target with getting what was important to us. Thanks for being in tune with the love that Himat recieves from his family. Again, these photos are priceless to me. Look forward to working with you again.
